About Abita Brewing Company
On March 9, 1995 Abita Root Beer joined the list of products brewed and bottled by the Abita Brewing Company. It is the first soft drink offered by the company which specializes in micro brewed lagers and ales. An adaptation of the original Abita Beer logo is used on the bottle labels. The design by New Orleans artist Sally Koch features a navy blue background with a stylized sheaf of green sugar cane.
Founded in 1986, the Abita Brewing Company is nestled in the piney woods 30 miles north of New Orleans. They brew over 151,000 barrels of beer and 9,100 barrels of root beer in their state-of-the-art brewing facility.
